Stigmarole ~ Monday’s Midlife Made-Up Word

If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.

Stigmarole

Today’s made-up word is stigmarole (n): bullshit comments, intended to make you feel guilty, from people who disapprove of your actions. Related to stigmulate.

Derived from rigmarole (foolish or meaningless talk) + stigma (a mark of guilt or disgrace).

This is the last Hot Goddess blog post for September, as I prepare to move overseas. I would love it if you checked back here in October when I publish my first post from Portugal. Thank you so much for all your kind encouragement and support! Até breve! 💜

  3. Haha! As someone newer to your blog, I love this concept. While I find it hysterical, I have seen people doing what you’re describing. “You don’t know about this?” (as if we’re idiots who haven’t heard of or believe some ridiculous BS.) Science?

Science? We don’t need no stinkin’ science. I know it’s true because I read about it on the Internet.🤣
