Summer Solstice Sunset ~ A Follow-up

Bom dia! This is just a quick follow-up to yesterday’s Summer Groove post. My neighbor and I walked to the edge of our cliff to watch the summer solstice sunset last night. We took a different path; one that I’d passed many times but never ventured onto because it’s narrow and overgrown. After we’d walked a bit, we came to a small opening in the overgrowth, through which the path continued. “Oh, what? I’m not going in that Hobbit hole,” was my first thought (which I think I may have accidentally uttered out loud). But we continued on, and then…

Well, take a look…

We started out on the usual path.
Then we ventured onto the path less taken. Never before taken by either of us. This Hobbit hole gave me pause (fear…of small animals and large bugs).
This was waiting for us on the other side of “Hobbit Hole.”
The sound of the ocean never gets old.

I loved finding this new-to-me spot by the ocean. Secluded and peaceful. Just what I needed. Thank you for joining me.

    • Thank you so much, Laureen! If I’d been alone I most certainly would have turned around to avoid entering that hole. But yes, it was worth going in. I hope you’re enjoying your summer yoga retreat. Sounds wonderful 💜

  2. Wow, how beautiful! Thank you for sharing the ocean sounds! It was a beautiful start to my day!

I too wouldn’t have ventured into the animal run! Well, I would have done it in my 20’s, but not now, for the same reasons as you! Since living in Tucson, AZ, and having seen packs of havelinas, nope!

    • 😳😳 Oh yikes! I might not even go for a stroll in Tucson.
Had I gone on the walk solo last evening, I know I wouldn’t have ventured into “Hobbit Hole.” My older neighbor’s eye-rolling and muttering about my hesitation triggered a pride reflex, though, so in I went.

      • LOL! I understand that! I’d probably have done the same thing! If you do go for a stroll in Tucson, don’t get between the baby and its Momma Havelina! LOL!

  3. The views are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. I’m so glad you know where to go now and with a glow stick, whistle and stick just for safety the next time. I want to live there! What town is this beach near? I’ve only been looking at Lisbon.
    Thanks so much.
