Smarpidity
Today’s made-up word is smarpidity (n): The state of being stupid but believing you are smart.
Derived from: smart (intelligent) + stupidity (the state of being stupid)
“Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation…any numerical assumption would turn out to be an underestimate.”

Thank goodness for smarpidity! That’s what keeps emergency services like mine in business. It means cash for life us! Smart people doing stupid stuff is why we exist!
