Textemporize ~ Monday’s Midlife Made-Up Word

If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.

Textemporize

Today’s made-up word is textemporize (v): to send an impromptu text message; texting without thought or preparation. Often occurs with the consumption of alcohol and can lead to negative or unintended consequences.

Derived from extemporize (to improvise or ad-lib; produce or act without plan or preparation) + text (to send an electronic message from one cell phone to another by typing words).
