Then & Now in Midlife

October 2022 saw me move to Portugal, but it was January 2023 when immigration officials here approved my residency. As I celebrate my one-year anniversary as an official, government-approved resident here, I thought I’d share a look back to where my midlife transformation began. From my home in the U.S. to my home in Portugal, my 60s have been more than I ever imagined. It is never too late to change your life.

  2. I love reading your posts and am so happy for you. You truly are an inspiration to many of us. You are thriving in your new environment. Congratulations! On a different note – how is your weather there lately? Very cold and nasty here. I am visiting in Florida right now and it’s 27! The kids here had a 2 hour delay due to the cold. I am flying back to CLE tomorrow. Brrrrrr.

    • Thank you so much for your kindness, Audra! 💕 I am not missing The Land’s frigid winters, that’s for sure. Winter here is 50s and 60s F, with 40s for overnight lows. It can seem chillier due to high humidity and wind, though. Definitely more days of rain in the winter too. Still, it was blue sky and 64°F (and 40mph winds) here yesterday, when CLE was below-zero windchill. Stay warm!
