Midlife Made-Up Word

Solituvation ~ Made-Up Word Monday

If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.

Solituvation

Today’s made-up word is solituvation (n): the state of protection and healing achieved by spending time alone. Often required by introverts.

Derived from: solitude (the state of being alone) + salvation (the act of saving or protecting from harm)

  1. Solituvation is actually what keeps me sane. There are people who have not liked the quarantine/pandemic because of being separated from people but I have actually thrived. I’ve begun learning Italian and taken up many other learning pursuits with the extra “me” time.
