If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.
Exlacerabation
Today’s made-up word is exlacerabation (n): an act of a former spouse or romantic partner that causes a worsening of heartbreak or emotional wounds.
Derived from exacerbate (to make worse) + laceration (a jagged tear, cut, or wound) + ex (a former spouse or partner from a long-term romantic relationship).
