If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.
Freegrettable
Today’s made-up word is freegrettable (adj.): used to describe deplorable acts committed by those who mistakenly believe they’re entitled to deny the rights of others in the name of their own personal freedom.
Derived from: free (enjoying personal rights or liberty) + regrettable (deserving regret; unfortunate; deplorable).
Related to freedumb (slang): “Stupidity masquerading as love of freedom; an assertion of one’s personal liberty which is perceived to be unreasonable or motivated by stupidity.”

Thoughts? Suggestions? Let me know in the comments.

And if she’d been forced to apologize for the act of spitting, the words would have been full of fauxcerity…fake sincerity.

So clever! I’m guessing in its noun version it’s freegression? Freedom + Agression – the agression towards other and society masquerading itself as freedom? Thanks for the smile and food for thought!

I just stumbled across your blog. I want to say hi! And also these Monday made-up word posts are a riot! 😀 I can’t see myself using freegrettable so much but freedumb is now definitely joining my vocabulary. And I’m sure more of your words will too. Thanks!
