If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.
Destinsinuation
Today’s made-up word is destinsinuation (n): the practice of going the extra mile to gain favor and ensure approval of expat travel plans. Typically includes maintaining a super-friendly, cooperative, and deferential demeanor while providing way more information than is required. Can lead to vexpat syndrome.
Derived from destination (the place to which a person travels) + insinuation (the art of ingratiation; the act of getting on someone’s good side).

Thoughts? Suggestions? Let me know in the comments.
