Midlife snark

Sunday Snarky Pie ~ Meditating in Midlife

If you’re a regular reader here you know I like my pie. Pie charts, that is. Apparently my readers like them too, so I’m serving a helping of straight snarky pie here every Sunday. These infographics are a brief visual summary of my weekly phone chats with a girlfriend. Feel free to chime in down in the comments. Nobody can dish like two midlife women. So grab a fork and join me for a quick slice o’ pie.

Phone chat topic this week:

Midlife Meditation Practice

Takeaway:

Can’t we just do medication?

Effective Meditation vs. Reality

My fantasy meditation practice looks something like this.

Reality is a whole other story.
Om gonna need more practice.

  1. If I open my eyes even for just a second I immediately see a spot that needs dusting, vacuuming, wiping or tidying, an article of clothing is peeking out of a drawer or some other pressing, insignificant thing distracts me from the breathing. 🤷‍♀️

  2. *sigh* yes, these are all too real! I once attended a huge group meditation, and I was the only one to compulsively pull out my notebook to feverishly write down all the deep thoughts and poetry my brain decided to download in those minutes. No one else moved. No one else did anything except peacefully meditate. 😌
