Stigmarole ~ Monday’s Midlife Made-Up Word

If you’re a regular reader here or on my Instagram page, you know I like to make up words. “Trumpectomy” and “Back-to-normaling,” for example. Every Monday I’ll feature a new word here for open minds. Any suggestions? Would love those, too.

Today’s made-up word is stigmarole (n): bullshit comments, intended to make you feel guilty, from people who disapprove of your actions. Related to stigmulate.

Derived from rigmarole (foolish or meaningless talk) + stigma (a mark of guilt or disgrace).

  1. Wow Natalie. I’m so happy that your move is really happening despite the BS. I admire your courage and determination to make this move and hope you thrive in your new home. I can’t wait to hear more about it! Big hugs and kudos. ๐Ÿ’•

  2. Haha! As someone newer to your blog, I love this concept. While I find it hysterical, I have seen people doing what you’re describing. “You don’t know about this?” (as if we’re idiots who haven’t heard of or believe some ridiculous BS.) Science?

Science? We don’t need no stinkin’ science. I know it’s true because I read about it on the Internet.๐Ÿคฃ
